The past few weeks we ventured off to the Salida area for seeing family and getting out in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. We were there back in July as well. While we didn’t spend a lot of time on the trails we did get some time in on the Rainbow Trail on 2 different sections. This trail runs about 35 miles straight down one mountain range and connects into the Colorado Trail at one point.

We got to get some great sunset shots and morning shots of Mt Shavano, a 14’er I climbed last year. There are also some shots along the Arkansas River in and near Salida including a few with a resourceful kayaker. The area is gorgeous as shown in the photos at our picture website:

We also hit 3 Sisters again and that area has so many trail systems that you could go for weeks and always see something new. We did climb the Big Sister almost to the top. Photos of this trip are also there. The colors are beginning to change up there showing the change of seasons. We got some great shots in some of these so check them out and we will keep you posted.
