Fall Colors In Colorado

This will be a real treat! Life with all its busyness, hustle and bustle has moments that can be captured in time that are priceless. And nothing is better than catching them on camera. This would also apply to the intense fall colors that Colorado offers every year. We got the chance to see some of the best in the state down in the Durango, CO area this past weekend.

You will love these especially if you didn’t get out to see them this year. We have a smorgasbord for you all! As always you can get to these pictures at our picture web site to view and download these at:

We both took a well needed break from our jobs to get out for a few days. We are reminded that for all of us, like the earth, we all go through seasons: Seasons of fruit, seasons of harvest, seasons of joy, seasons of sorrow, seasons of adversity. But like God’s planet all our seasons have an end. 2 verses come to mind:

“I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” (Ezekiel 34:26)

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven..” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

The shower of blessings came to us these 2 days in the form of the colors that are the result of the end of summer, the beginning of fall which is bridged into winter. The joy comes in knowing that while everything in yellow, gold and red fades in the frigid cold of winter it will bloom again in the spring and enchant the land all over again. Seasons pass……..

--A DAY IN PURGATORY—

I just loved this weird correlation. Saturday, October 11th it rained and was cloudy a good part of the day. We headed up north of Durango towards Silverton (not on the train) and made it as far as the pass where snow and cold was socking the area in. We were in the area of the Purgatory Ski Area, thus the name of the photo session. Even with the clouds we got some great shots that day of vivid aspens and various other chlorophyll filled goodies.

The snow and low clouds actually lended to the spectacular colors and atmosphere. You will like the blend of colors that “God The Ultimate Artist” displayed.

--A DAY IN PAGOSA—

Okay so the day after on Sunday, October 12th we were blessed with cool but sunny weather when we headed out east of Durango towards Pagosa Springs and Wolf Creek Pass and the colors in the sunshine were amazing! In 22 years of being in the state I have never seen color like this. The colors shielded by the protective custody of snow capped peaks up to over 14,000’ was spectacular!

We went all over the area and filled enough digital memory to feed a flock of birds and we sure saw those including a large hawk at Lake Vallcito. Words are not needed as you view these! Enjoy!
